Biology
During our Biology year our teacher Colleen Dunning has been busy teaching us very important content. Our First Project was to go out to DNS (Durango Nature Studies) and study the different types of Biodiversity the land had. Everyone had great fun during this project and they also got to learn a good bit of content. IT was fun because Colleen made us get down and dirty we were in the pond finding leopard and bullfrogs in which were needed to see if the Bullfrogs were taking over the Leopard Frog's territory. After all of this we started a project in which you study a species which is going extinct or a problem in your local ecology. After research you would make up a plan to stop these problems. I studied Colony Collapse Disorder and why these bees are going away from their hives and than I solved it with a Brilliant plan.
As of the late months of 2012 my class and I have been learning Evolution. In our Evolution labs we categorize how humans evolved from a common hominid ancestor. We have learned how to decided which era the skulls came from due to features and certain lengths in these hominids skull. It is very interesting and more is to come! We also listened to a podcast about a chimp named Lucy!
