Rube Goldberg In my Rube Goldberg my partner and I had to push boundaries. My partner and I wanted a Rube Goldberg that would blow minds and blow up! Heidi and I worked really hard on this project and it was a job well done. I believe that we worked through everything and no ideas were stupid in this build. It didn't completely work til the day of exhibition. With collaboration and teamwork we found our problems and fixed them. This build turned out to be lots of fun and to be a great experience.

Rocket Project Our Rocket project had two main goals. Build a Rocket and make it fly. The other goal is to have a good right up with science envolved. My rocket flew approximately 134.9 feet the parachute only partly deployed though. The parachute got stuck because of the spray paint that was put on 7 hours before launch. There was also to much friction on the parachute, i believe I packed it to tight. At launch day we all had a launch number. I had been one of the last ten to launch. I had also been one of the farthest to launch as well. Our paint job was the best though in my opinion. We renamed it Captain America because it was a red white and blue rocket and it looked sweet. Its paint job made a ghetto looking rocket look awesome. My rocket project will be posted soon.

Cat Can Challenge
We had a cat can challenge before the Rocket project. We were given a marble, stopwatch, ramp, and cat can. Our goal was to make the marble land in the cat can by recording acceleration. We also couldn't let the marble hit the ground or get too far away from the end of the run way. After getting an average of the numbers and plugging my numbers in after a lot of confusion I finally got it. Once we let that marble go it hit right smack dab into the middle of the cat can.
Mortar Project
When we first started our first project of the year it was difficult to brainstorm a good original idea. Every one else was doing dry ice bombs and potato cannons. So we put those together with an original result. We made a dry ice mortar. We took pvc pipe and capped it off. We would then take a dry ice bomb with one of the three liquids and record hang time, blow up time, and final distance. Our mortar was the best. We dropped a bomb down there and I was going to put a baseball down the pipe but Mr.Heerschap said to go get the tennis ball and defused the bomb. I'm sure glad I didn't use that baseball. The tennis ball went way over 1000 feet around half a mile up into the air. It was a very fun project.
