What did you do well during this seminar?
I felt I made really good text refferences. I read from the book and I told what I thought of this part and I related it to what we are doing in class. I also believe I talked a good amount. Sometimes I tried to pull people into the conversation or atleast attempted too. I once got distracted and said something stupid but not innapropiate. I also felt I made things clearer and in a way clarified some subjects. Like in the tragedy part I brought everyone back on topic and said how Pindarus never said he was dead. I felt I did well during this seminar.
2) If I could go back a couple of days, what could you have done differently to help you improve your seminar performance?
If I could of gone back I would of made more text references in my prewrite to use in the seminar. I also think I could of worked more on the tragedy side because it didn't really make sense to me so I skimmed through it in a way. I could of also found things that would make the seminar go to new places and make referrences to how it coinsides with life. Possibly I could of put stay on topic on my seminar prewrite because I got off topic once in the seminar but it was very quick and a peer redirected me. Over all I felt I did a very exceptional job.
3) What was something someone else said in the discussion that you found interesting? React to that comment.
what I thought was interesting was when Heidi said "Even though it is Sad or Violent it is still beautiful." I felt this is just the plain simple truth. I never really thought of it that way until yesterday. Heidi had a very good point that she put out there. I felt this is true because Beauty is everywhere in the world. Like New Mexico I feel it is a pointless wasteland. I know some people that Nex Mexico is a beautiful and enchanting land. It is just a really nice deep thought.
4) What can you learn from Shakespeare to use in your writing?
What I learned from Shakespeare is that I need to use Irony. Irony is a big part of this play actually the main subject in this play. It keeps people on edge and they just want to read more and more. I learned that I have to have a big rising action until I get to my Climax and everyone will love what I wrote. It is helpful to use also because it also tells me I have to put emotion into my characters. I need to make my characters seem as if they are real. They need to revolve around emotions. That is what I learned from Shaespeare.
